weirdest dream ever

Good morning Gil
Oh, I've had stranger, but few so cinematic as this one. [info]here_be_dragons and [info]not_wayfarer had staring roles. I can trace most of the events in this to a second season episode of the Highlander TV show, but my version was much more grandiose.

We were all working in this big renovated warehouse building along a waterfront somewhere...my brain says it was California (probaby why [info]here_be_dragons got thrown into the mix. Anyhoo, this serial killer appears. His MO is to cut off male genetalia and leave that where folks'll find it separately from the mauled body. Sure enough, we're all in a mall along the waterfront when the genetalia shows up in one of the stores. In a sub-plot, [info]here_be_dragons finds this really neat new guy and starts dating. I somehow find myself alone w/ said guy and he turns out to be the killer (sorry, Wendy!) and confesses his methods to me in great detail.
We're all back at work one day (in a very mood-lighty version of the warehouse) and form a kind of sting operation to catch the killer. Our boss, a stocky barrel of a man, ends up cornering the killer while we're all looking on from a balcony above. He smashes out a glass panel of a cabinet door and manages to cut some vital blood vessel on the killer. Killer vanquished!
Later, [info]not_wayfarer and I are heading towards the exit door at the end over-dramatically (and still mood lit) long hallway, and I see a shadow duck behind a file cabinet, as if someone's going to jump out and scare us after all this "fun". I know it's the bossguy, and I also suddenly know, with absolute certainty, that he's the real killer - the other one was just a lackey he had brainwashed and convinced to play a role. I start talking really loudly just before we turned the corner to the exit, forcing the bossguy to reveal himself. He comes out joking and laughing and we all say our goodbyes for the night.
Woke up very, very chilled from all of this, just knowing that the killer was *right there*

(Did I mention the bossguy works for SWCA? *snerk* I'm not making this up!)

I swear if I could remember the details of this (it was extremely detailed), I'd have a bestseller thriller on my hands. Darn my cinematic brain! I need to TiVo my dreams, darnit.

Anyhoo...woke up around 6am (luckily to a lightening sky and the sounds of quail tromping across the yard), so it wasn't all that bad. Still a little creeped out, though.

I have a feeling this'll be the first of many dreams. See, I generally only dream if I'm on my back, and the bed here (where I'm housesitting) lends itself to forming a deep hollow that keeps me on my back all night. I woke up in my hollow, arms crossed tightly across my chest, and my legs crossed at the ankle - my body's typical dream defensive position. If I had been home, my arms would have been tucked tightly to my sides, my hands in fists up by my shoulders - usually clutching handfulls of blanket. *shrugs* yeah, weird.

Uggh. I needed a lot more than 4 hours of sleep :/
